some nifty translation and research into my name - thank you! i had been told that my name means 'warrior from the sea'. this is kind of nice because i was born on king island. but i have always thought that the name meredith would've originally belonged to some brawny celtic dude covered in woad and tatts wielding a big broad sword. i was sent a quizz entitled 'which lord of the rings character are you?'. all my girl friends and sister and mother got arwen and galadriel but i got gimli the dwarf. i don't mind. apparently, in a metaphorical sense at least, i should be good at facing down a few orcs. so maybe the doughty sword wielding vibe attached to my name isn't wasted on me
