Meredith comes from the old Welsh male name Mareludd, which probably means 'great lord'. The second element '-iudd' means 'lord'; the first element probably means 'great', or maybe 'sea'. In recent years the name has been given to girls. In Welsh pronunciation emphasis falls on the penultimate syllable of words, but in the English-speaking world the emphasis in Meredith is on the first syllable.

I'm not working on Snatches, but yes Anikó definitely is! I'll be in the audience, but couldn't commit to anything more as I'm just about to start rehearsals for a touring production of Possum Magic that's going to have me on the road until sometime in Sept/Oct! How is your job search going?
